Japanese yuzen washi paper was first created in Japan about 300 years ago. Its rich gold-flecked designs of good luck symbols and nature images were inspired by the Japanese kimono. A rich-colored, durable paper, yuzen washi has traditionaly been used to decorate articles (from jewelry boxes to lamp shades) in the home.
